TheBusinessDesk.com is a daily online news service for the North West.

It launched in the region in September 2008, and has more than 13,000 registered users, each of whom have actively chosen to sign-up to our unique offering of online business news for the whole of the region.

Our subscriber base is growing fast – an average of 200 business owners, directors, executives and entrepreneurs, professionals and financiers a week are signing up to receive our daily early morning email news service.

The website and emails are completely free to the end user. Users do need to sign-up with a user name and password to view content, but this is a quick and simple process, with a ‘remember me’ button ensuring users are not required to re-enter their details after visiting the site that first time.

We also distribute our news via Twitter, RSS, SMS, breaking news emails and a weekly news round-up email.

Our campaign to pursue a positive news agenda, in contrast to the national media, has been very well received by the region’s business community.

North West business news is our focus, and what drives the reputation of TheBusinessDesk brand, but website content also includes comment and features, interviews, events listings, an online business directory and a searchable archive.

History:
TheBusinessDesk.com is the first regional online business news service in the UK. It was first launched across Yorkshire in November 2007 by former Yorkshire Post Business Editor David Parkin after identifying a gap in the market for on-demand business news.

Following a successful year in the Yorkshire region, TheBusinessDesk.com launched across the North West in September 2008 and is the only news website dedicated to North West business. Our team of journalists is led by former Manchester Evening News Business Editor Chris Barry.
