IMG_0038Last year, Kingsland Wines & Spirits were winners of both the Large Business of the Year Award – the premier award of the year and the 2013 Green Award.

As a major employer of around 300, predominantly local staff, the surrounding Salford community is of significant importance to Kingsland Wines and Spirits, and is one of the key reasons that Kingsland support the Salford Business Awards.

In recent years they have worked hard to improve their “green” status through both a day-to-day business strategy and continuous investment in their Irlam site. In entering, and subsequently winning the Green Award, Kingsland have had the opportunity to publicise their achievements and raise awareness of the importance of considering the impact their business has on the environment.

When asked why the awards are important to local business, Kingsland agreed that the success of local businesses, whether large or small, is crucial to the strength of the local economy and these awards give recognition to local businesses who strive to succeed and consistently improve. The awards also increase consumer confidence in local businesses and are a good opportunity to network, business to business, further strengthening relationships and creating opportunities for local businesses to work together.

A great deal of work has gone into a number of Kingsland’s projects and recognition for the ongoing success, in terms of environmental initiatives, is a great motivator to all involved in both the day to day running of the business and in the teams engaged in implementing the initiatives.

Kingsland will continue to invest and develop as a business with the necessary focus on local employment and engagement with the community as a whole, supported by a strong ‘green’ agenda.

Applications to the 2014 Salford Business Awards are now open and will close on Friday 28th February. Apply now.
